Race for the Cure

Since 2005 Dr. Burgess and her staff have participated in the Portland Race for the Cure®.  Together with our breast cancer reconstruction patients, we take part in the walk to help raise awareness, celebrate survivors and honor those who have fought this disease.  In addition, Dr. Burgess hosts a booth at the Health Expo at the Convention Center during the weekend of the race. We welcome former patients, their families and anyone interested to drop by our booth and help educate women about their reconstructive options.

Bra Project

For the past two years Dr. Burgess and her staff have invited patients to take part in a Bra Project event to help raise breast cancer awareness.  We take an evening to join our patients in creating fun, decorative and sometimes entertaining bras that we proudly display in our office, as well as our booth at the Portland Health Expo.  Patients enjoy the opportunity to express their breast cancer experience in more of a light-hearted manner, while still emphasizing the important role of stimulating awareness.  Please contact our office if you are interested in this event.
